DESCRIPTION
The farmhouse dates back to early 1700 in the period in which the "Spedale Santa Maria della Scala" in Siena covered a crucial role in the care and acceptance of the Pilgrims who traveled to Rome or the Francigena to Santiago de Compostela. The pilgrims traveled about 25 miles a day on foot, so they had great need of refreshment, and for the most debilitated to be treated. Sprang up along the way many shelters for pilgrims, owned by the "Hospital". Casa le Rondini was one of these admissions, we used to think the change of horses, as there is a cistern to collect rain water back to the same period. In 1864 the small building of yellow stone that we can still see inside of the front is extended with white travertine stone, and becomes a great house. The ground floor used as stables and the first floor was used as a home for coloni.Intorno a chicken coop, a barn and other small farm buildings.
In 2010 began a careful and painstaking restoration of the entire house. Respecting the nature of the structure and reusing the recovered materials in the farm, such as roof tiles or beams in good condition that have been used for the floors of the ground floor. Where possible we have left the stone and fine woods used for which the chestnut beams and solid oak for the doors and windows. We have treated with the restructuring also saving energy by using glasses with high certification and 'underfloor heating to heat the room.
Ground Floor
the entrance is on the ground floor through a glass door, we enter the living area and on the right is a well equipped kitchen in walnut with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, a large work surface around the stove, the oven, a large solid wood table and comfortable chairs. Sinstra in the living area are two comfortable sofas and a stone wall of a TV-SAT. Continuing we find a large hall with brick arches and pierta where you can access a very modern bathroom with washing machine and shower, also used as the use of the disabled. As a last there is a double-room, cozy study, which may have a dual use according to the needs of customers, it is a study with desk and library, satellite TV and large sofa that can become a comfortable double room having had the care to find a comfortable sofa bed and spacious. From this room you exit into a small courtyard paved with dry stone recovered during the restoration phase.
First Floor
From the hall are the stairs leading upstairs. Climbing the stairs of travertine, with bright LEDs that create a charming atmosphere you get to the upper floor where there is an entrance that leads to 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. The "LILLA" Room is a double bedroom with a large painted wrought iron bed, two bedside tables, a wardrobe and a chest made of solid wood. Has a bathroom inside the room, very modern and comfortable shower also has a TV-SAT. The "ORO" Room is the master bedroom has a large black wrought iron bed, two bedside tables, a large wardrobe and a chest made of solid wood. Also has satellite TV and the bathroom small but very functional with a comfortable shower. The "GLICINE" Room has 2 twin beds in wrought iron blacks, 2 bedside tables, a wardrobe and a chest made of solid wood and satellite TV. The bathroom for the exclusive use of this room is in the corridor, is also very modern and equipped with shower Central. In each room you can admire the ceiling with ancient beams and bricks. The windows are not very big but they look like pictures of the panoramic surroundings.
